The boat crosses the Maha Oya River. Elephants at the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage bathe in this same river about 75 kilometers upriver).


Among the many animals you will see on the tour are bats, eagles, egrets, kingfishers, and water monitors (the 2nd largest reptile in the world).
