Wellness Retreat 12-17 October

Below are elements of the retreat

Welcome Ceremony

A welcome ceremony is a traditional way of greeting guests and celebrating the beginning of a communal event.  Weclome ceremonies include both drumers and dancers. 

Dance Sessions (4)

In 4 separate sessions, participants will learn and practice basics of traditional Sri Lankan dance.  Sri Lanka has 3 related dance styles.  In these workshops, participants will learn Low Country dance.  Dance sessions will explore some of the meaning and history of Sri Lankan dance.

Drum Sessions (4)

In 4 separate sessions, participants will learn and practice some traditional Sri Lankan rhythms.

Meditation Session (4)

There will be 4 guided meditation sessions 

Photoshoots (2)

In one photoshoot, the participant will have their portrait taken in different locations wearing a traditional Sri Lankan outfit.  

In the other photoshoot, the participant will have their portrait taken in different locations wearing a flying dress.

Boast Safaris (1)

The group will go on a boat safari through the mangrove jungle.  The boat safari will visit a sacred church located directly on the beach.

Sri Lankan Cooking Class (1)

The group will learn how to make some of the classic dishes of Sri Lankan cuisine.

Kite Flying on the Beach (1)

Unlock

Participants have the option of attending a kite-making workshop and making their own kite.

Sri Lankan Weaving Workshop (1)

Using organic materials, participants will learn how to make ornate decorations used in wedding, initiation, and other sacred ceremonies,

Temple Excursion (1)

Participants will visit a local Buddhist temple, see some of the vibrant frescos, and learn about the stories and teachings depicted in the frescos.  One enters the temple through a dramatic portal shaped like a lion's mouth. 

Massages

Participants will have daily massages.  During the retreat, they will have massages as below:

• Leg & Foot Massage (4)

• Back, Neck, & Shoulder Massage (4)

• Fish Therapy (1)

Meals

The retreat is full board and includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  All meals are vegetarian.

The retreat includes water, coffee, roasted on site and world-famous Ceylon tea.

All other drinks are chargeable (The resort includes a full bar for those who drink alcohol)

Cost

$1,200 per person (private air-conditioned bedroom and private bathroom in a luxury 2 bedroom villa)

$1,200 per person (private air-conditioned bedroom and private bathroom in a luxury 3 bedroom villa)

$1,000 per person (private air-conditioned bedroom and shared bathroom in a luxury 3 bedroom villa)

$800 per person (private fan-cooled bedroom with shared batrhoom in a luxury 3 bedroom villa)

$2,000 per couple (private air-conditioned studio villa with private plunge pool)

Prices include accommodation, meals, taxes, and round-trip transport to/from the CMB airport.
